Yamunotri Temple is an attractive destination for the devotees in Barkot. This pilgrimage is one of the Char Dhams and large number of devotees from all around the country come to the Yamunotri Temple to praise Goddess Yamuna. In the months of April to October, thousands of devotees visit this temple.
Surya Kund
Surya Kund is a famous thermal spring and among one of the attractions of this place, not only among the tourists but the local people as well. It is one of the amazing tourist spots in Barkot where pilgrims submerge potatoes and rice in the hot spring water to cook. Once these are cooked, it is served as prasad.
Janki Chatti
It is the midpoint of the trek to Yamunotri which is accessible by jeeps. Janki Chatti is situated 7kms before Yamunotri and this place is popular for thermal springs.
Divya Shilla
Divya Shilla is a rock pillar which is worshipped before entering the divine Yamunotri temple.
Lakhamandal
Lakhmandal is a place of archeological significance. There are temples to Shiva, Parshuram and five Pandavas. Historians identify the place with the epic Laxagriha (house of wax) made by Duryodhan in a conspiracy to kill the Pandavas.
